Pak two ahead of Pressel at Jamie Farr

Sylvania, OH (Sports Network) - Se Ri Pak managed a two-under 69 on Saturday to stay ahead after three rounds of the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic. She stands at 13-under-par 200 and is two ahead at Highland Meadows Golf Club.
Morgan Pressel, who won this year's Kraft Nabisco Championship, fired a seven- under 64 and finished at 11-under-par 202.
In-Kyung Kim birdied seven in a row to start her round en route to a 65. She is third at minus-eight, followed by Alena Sharp, who shot a four-under 67 to get to four-under-par 206.
Pak, a four-time winner of this event, began the third round with a five-shot lead, but she stumbled right out of the gate. She three-putted the par-three second green for a bogey, but atoned for the error with birdies at four and six.
Pak continued making pars as no one really threatened her lead. She had a good look at birdie at the 11th, but missed and finally made another birdie at the 13th.
At the 16th, Pak's approach hit a tree limb and fell straight down. She pitched her third to 30 feet and missed the long par putt.
As Pak was making that bogey, Pressel started her climb up the leaderboard.
Pressel traded a birdie and a bogey over her first five holes, but three straight birdies around the turn made her a factor. She birdied the 12th and 14th holes to get within four.
When Pressel birdied the 17th and Pak bogeyed 16, Pak's margin was down to two.
Highland Meadows features two par fives to close the round and Pressel took advantage of that at 18. She laid up with her second but knocked her third to five feet. Pressel converted the birdie putt to get into the clubhouse at minus-11.
Pak played great down the stretch, but didn't see the results at 17. Her third stopped nine feet from the stick, but Pak was not able to cash in on the birdie try.
At the last, Pak came up just short with her second. She chipped to three feet and holed the birdie putt to take a two-stroke lead into the final round on Sunday.
Pak, a Hall of Famer, will have to contend with the brightest young star in the game Sunday. And she will have to do it in the final pairing.
"I played pretty well today," acknowledged Pressel. "Placement on the greens was pretty good today and I drained a few putts. I have to go after it. I'm behind so I have to play well."
Laura Davies (67), Linda Wessberg (66), Laura Diaz (68), Meg Mallon (70) and Carri Wood (70) are knotted in fifth place at six-under-par 207.
Beth Bader (66), Wendy Ward (67) and Angela Stanford (69) share 10th place at minus-five.
Newly crowned U.S. Women's Open champion Cristie Kerr struggled to a four-over 75 on Sunday and is part of a group tied for 39th place at one-over-par 214.
